Welcome to Tender Flame Soy Candles, a home-based candle business offering a variety of container soy candles and simmer pot kits while spreading hope for recovery by sharing Experience, Strength and Hope. Operating out of my home allows me to keep the cost down while working to build a mission- and recovery-focused organization that will create hope and support for those in need within the recovery community.

The soy wax used is all natural, made of 100% soybean oil wax, and the fragrances are phthalate free clean scents, offering a non-toxic, eco-friendly alternative to burning candles. Each candle recipe is carefully crafted to ensure the highest quality candle experience. Each candle is hand-poured and made with love.

From the Owner: This candle business was established as a way to pour my emotions into at a time when my life was affected by addiction and chaos. It’s now become a healing project. These candles are a testament of recovery, perseverance, and strength. Anyone who is affected by addiction or is a person in recovery themselves, can relate to the difficulties that come with the journey, so these candles are a way to help ease the burden. Our goal is to use our profits to help build a supportive community of recovery. We recover when we know we are not alone. Be sure to check out the About Page for more information about our mission.

Profits go toward contributing to helping others in their journey of recovery. We accept volunteers interested in healing, recovery, leadership, and service. These candles are made specifically by those who are seeking to find something positive to pour their emotions into while working on their own personal recovery. Part of my role is to partner with them to expand their life skills, while also helping them find healthier tools and encouraging positive change.

The following trainings assure that I am qualified for this role:

Certified Peer Counselor through the Washington State Healthcare Authority as a non-Medicaid affiliated agency.
Certified Crisis Intervention Specialist-II through the National Anger Management Association.
Mental Health First Aid Certified.
Peer Recovery Coach through Connecticut Community Addiction Recovery (CCAR), a NAADAC (the Association for Addiction Professionals).
And, I am in recovery myself from the effects of alcoholism in the home, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence survivor, and living with chronic pain.

In my recovery I actively work a 12-Step program and am gifted with this opportunity to share what I learn with those who are still struggling to figure out their journey. I have a bachelor’s degree in business with a specialization in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and I have extensive experience in business ranging from Customer Service, Operations, Procurement, Leadership, and Candle Making!
